PARTYING WITH A CONSCIENCE

WHAT WE ARE ABOUT

Our mission is to create a unique setting that delivers exciting experiences for people of all ages and backgrounds, that brings people from across the UK to Bristol.

We love live entertainment and are passionate about working with local, national and international promoters, bands and artists to put on club nights, food & drink and live music events 52 weeks of the year.

OUR ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT

Whilst we love the good times; the Motion team also love their locality, the city and the great outdoors, and are conscious of the environmental challenges these face. In particular air pollution, use of finite resources, climate change, over-consumption and wastefulness.
Therefore, where possible we are taking measures to reduce our impacts, in particular:

Travel carbon footprint: Working with audiences, artists and suppliers to reduce unnecessary travel and to account for the carbon footprint.
Energy consumption: Working towards using the most energy efficient lights and equipment and using the most renewable energy suppliers practically possible
Waste production: Adopting measures to reduce waste production in the first instance and then disposing of waste in the most environmentally responsible manner.
Food: Working with local suppliers to adopt ethical certifications, reduce food mileage, and wastage created from single-use items

GETTING INVOLVED

We want everyone, audiences, artists and suppliers to join us on this journey of parting with a conscience. So here are some of the ways you can work with us:

GREENER TRAVEL AND TRANSPORT TO TACKLE OUR TRAVEL CARBON FOOTPRINT:

Go Car Share – Did you know a full car has a lower carbon footprint per passenger than a train? So don’t travel half empty, share your journey and make some new mates.

We are using local suppliers wherever possible to reduce transport and food miles.

REDUCING WASTE AND RECYCLING

We recycle all plastics, cans and cardboard but are keen to reduce and minimise the creation of waste in the first place. Therefore, to minimise single-use plastics we are trialing a reusable cup scheme at a number of events this year. Please support this scheme by reusing your cups and not dropping on the dance floor- it’s much nicer not to dance with a cup attached to your shoe!

BEING THE CHANGE WE WANT TO SEE

The Motion team are committed to being a player for change in the UK live entertainment sector to inspire more sustainable and less resource intensive events, and make a positive contribution to our local city and the wider world.
